Many designer handbag websites offer “Guaranteed 100% Authentic bags” but that doesn’t mean they’re authentic. China makes a ton of 5 star knock off these days but there are certain ways to tell if you purchased one. Generally you can tell the quality quite fast. If the material is thin or frays easily, you’ve got a knock off.

I personally wouldn’t purchase from an online store unless it was from eluxury.com or has permission to sell brand new bags from the designer. Bags that are usually $1,200 selling for $400 or $500 are either very old styles or fake.

If the bag you purchase is covered in plastic, meaning the handles, the bag, lock, keys, etc – its a definite fake.

Be sure to read the fine print on the return policy – they shouldn’t charge any restocking fee if it’s a truly authentic item.

Even though there are a lot of fakes on eBay, you can still find 2nd hand or brand new AUTHENTIC bags, just be aware of the seller’s background, the little details in the photos and the return policy.
