Convince Parents To Get An Earring?
I just want one earring. A normal, diamond stud on my left ear. I’m a guy, but it’s just an earring. Nothing punk or anything weird.
I’m Italian. My nonna and my dad said (In response to my question): “Are You Gay Now?”
My mom said, “See what your father says.”
My dad and nonna are old fashioned. Back in their day, and where they’re from, it was seen as gay, or only worn by criminals. But that was in Italy a long time ago.
Today, it’s accepted and quite popular.
How can I convince them to let me get one? I’m 16.

You think it’s the MJ thing? My dad doesn’t like him either, he thinks he’s over rated and that he is guilty. But that’s not why I don’t think, it’s just their views.
Whatever, 2 more years until I can get one. If I got one now, they’d probably rip it out.
You can’t convince them, especially since you are such a big MJ fan. It is still seen that way, here and now. Thank god that you are still listening to them, now that you have arrived at the silly age. Listening to those older and wiser is part of being Italian. You could reject them completely and force your adolescent whim. Or you could give them credit for having learned something in a lifetime of experience. Are you Italian enough to be smart?
