Pay-
RSPCA officer- Starting salary usually £15,879.
Fully-trained inspectors may earn up to £20,696.
Chief inspectors can earn between £25,492 and £30,000.
Also accommodation allowances are paid which is usually around £3,000 a year.
Fashion desiger- Starting salaries are around £13,000 to £15,000 a year.
Dressage rider- Depends, couldn’t really find an average salary.
I think all of these are quite popular but fashion designing is probably the most popular.
Qualifications-
RSPCA officer- You need at least two GCSEs (A-C) in English and science. You also have to be physically fit and able to swim 50 metres fully clothed, you also need a driving licence. Previous experience of working with animals is desirable & you need to be prepared to work anywhere in England & Wales.
Fashion designer- Fashion designers usually start their career after taking an HNC/HND or a degree in fashion. Foundation degree courses are also available. In England and Wales, many designers start out on a foundation course or other national diploma course before going on to a HNC/HND. The qualifications required are normally two A levels and three GCSEs (A-C), although other qualifications may be accepted. A portfolio of work has to be submitted with the application.
Dressage rider- I don’t know much about dressage but I do about other jobs involving horses as it’s what I wanna do, riding experience is essential. There are NVQs/SVQs in Horse Care at Levels 1 and 2 and Horse Care and Management at Level 3. To get into college you need four GCSEs (A-C). Apprenticeships may also be available.
For RSPCA & working with horses I think PE would be the best thing to take as you have to be quite fit for both of them, for fashion designing obviously textiles if it’s possible to take that as a option (I can’t remember if it is, it’s been a couple of years since I chose my options)
Sorry it’s a bit long, I hope this helps & good luck in whatever you decide to do.
