I want to be a fashion designer!!?

Ok so I’m a 14 year old girl and I want ot be a fashion designer when I grow up. Fashion is so fun and interesting to me and I’m always thinking about it! I already sew alot of my clothes and a couple of months ago, I sold clutches I made at the Red Dress fashion show, in the city I live in. I’m always drawing sketches and sewing.
So what else can I do?? I want this for myself so bad but I feel like I’m doing all I can right now! You can’t really take fashion design classes or anything, can you? What can I do now to help me with my dream in the future? Thanks!

There are many art and design schools out there that offer fashion design programs. The best schools are very competitive and require that you have a portfolio when you apply.

Since you’re only 14 you have more than enough time to create a decent portfolio. Compile all your strong work, take pictures and put it in a portfolio. Every year there’s National Portfolio Days across the country. Some of the best art & design schools get together and travel across the nation and critique portfolios of high school students or those continuing education. Also, Try looking into The Fashion Institute of Technology as one of your prospective schools.
