where can i find part time job in fashion retail now?

I am a student in London, found it is very hard to find a part time job in fashion retail,i do have really good experience, but here a lot person lost job, and I am not British or EU , maybe its harder? I feel a bit sad and really lost now.
I send so many letters and drop my CV in stores, but still have not get any reply, can anybody tell me why? is there anything wrong with me or this is just the reality?

Due to the economic recession many people are losing/not getting jobs, its not you!!! its just the economy, just keep on trying, look on job websites and go into local job centres these will help, try applying for popular retail stores as they generally have more customers so the odds on getting a job are much higher than a small business.
