fashion illustration help?

i was wondering..is it really necessary to draw croquis (a.k.a the model’s body) perfectly proportional (8-9 heads in height)? or it is up to us to draw whatever looks good? im confused..no its not for educational matters, just for fun

If it’s for fun, it’s alright to play around but I think if it might end up in a portfolio someday, it’s better if you’d stick to the standard proportions. I know the fashion business is very strict with model sizes – if a girl is even 1 inch shorter than the cut-off size, she can say goodbye to her dreams of becoming a model. You can imagine how strict they’d be about dress sizes =P
