Smear proof foundation?

Dear all, I am an African who uses Mac foundation. I love this product however it smears and smudges on my shirt even my jacket hence this has kep me away from wearing whites. I have tried Mary Kay, Sephora brand, Clinique, Fashion Fair and they all smudge on my shirt and jacket despite the color of the shirt. Is there a technique that I am not using or a smear proof foundation that can help?
I use make up brushes and sponges to apply the make up.
Please help me out. I have seen people on TV like Robin Roberts of Good Morning America whose make-up looks good but her shirts always look nice. She had a baby blue turtle neck sweater today and no smudges or smears..help me out..please..
