Fashion Dictionary

Is it a good idea to learn a foreign language using Bibles with English and target language on the same page?

Is the language in Bibles just to old fashioned to make this a wise endeavor?

I was thinking that the language in a Bible would be next to perfect though of course racy words and modern terms would be excluded.

I have dictionaries in modern European languages and a couple in Chinese.
Sorry unfit, I should have stressed that I meant using Bibles to acquire a reading knowledge.

I think that using a bible is a good tool to improve your use of a foreign language. Although I studied Spanish and French in school and practice them as often as I can, I like to use the Reina-Valera 1960 revision of the Spanish Bible and the Louis Segond French Bible with the King James Bible to improve my understanding and reading out loud of these languages.
