HELP! Meeting my boyfriend’s family for the first time, what do I wear?

Help! I’m going to my boyfriend’s house for new years eve and meeting his entire family for the first time. I’m at a loss for what I should wear, can you help me out? He told me to wear like dress jeans and a nice top but that really didn’t help. I’m going on Sunday to Fashion Bug b/c I have gift cards for there. Ugh, I hate not knowing what to wear! Especially meeting the family and not knowing what’s appropriate! I’ve definitely been there and I feel your pain! Let me see if I can help at all…

I would wear some nice, dark jeans, or some balck pants with either of these two shirts:
