Does anyone know the title of this book?
When Mom passed away several years ago I gave away and/or packed many of her belongings. The other day I was looking for one of her books and unfortunately couldn’t find it– I may have given it away. I don’t remember the title — all I know is that it was Fiction — about a young girl (Anastasia) fleeing Russia in the dead of winter with her only prized possession– her little dog. She goes to live in the US –NY City — falls in love, marries, has children, still has her dog. Then a fire destroys her apartment — the little children are ok but the little dog dies. Despite poverty, she doesn’t give up, eventually becomes a famous fashion designer — and on the last page of the the book, she is walking down the street (Park Avenue???) with her grand child.
Does anyone know the title of this book?? I’d really like to find it.
PS– This book was published around the mid 80′s, early 90′s — Mom passed away in 1992, and I think she bought the book in 1990.

I searched inside the book on Amazon and found the part about the fire and losing the dog she brought from St. Petersburg, so this is definitely your book. There are copies available for .01 at Amazon.
